His overwhelming desire to promote Kuchipudi in all its classical glory as one of the most brilliant dance forms in India, Kalaratna K V Satyanarayana has established the "K V Satyanarayana Excellence Award" on 26th September 2007, to recognize and felicitate eminent Gurus of Kuchipudi. The institution of this award is a memorable landmark in his illustrious life, the occasion being the day on which day he celebrated his 50th birthday. The Awardee will felicitate with Citation, Silver crown and with cash of 10116/-. This award will be presented every year on 26th of September, as an encouragement to talent and an inspiration to excel for exponents of Kuchipudi.
